Semester TWO, Blog #8

Franklin D. Roosevelt and Barack Obama are very similar. They came into presidency with very highly popularity, both came when the US is in crisis. Obama was gained a lot of popularity with his speeches and was the poster child for "HOPE" , FDR made a lot of connections to regular citizens through Fireside Chats (radio talk shows). They have from the beginning of their terms have pass bail outs, FDR proposed 500 million dollars, and Obama also proposed a bail out. Similarities also are that they both feel that the two parties should work together to put this country back together instead of going against each other .

"This contest is more than a contest between two men. It is more than a contest between two parties. It is a contest between two philosophies of government."
FDR on his last speech of the campaign.
